If, at your church or chapel, you have a functioning choir, you don't need to know about these books. You could save yourself time by moving on to something else.
Similarly, if your church or chapel has no interest at all about having a choir or vocal ensemble, even just for special occasions, please pass on.
If, on the other hand, any of these apply:
- your church or chapel has no choir but would like one;
- there is a small choir in need of encouragement and development;
- there is no one who feels able to lead a choir;
one of these books could be useful to you.
The pieces:
- are short;
- are arranged to be easy to learn;
- are flexible in requirements;
- have simple accompaniments, but also with backing tracks available;
- don't have any very high notes;
- don't have any very low notes;
- do have voice-specific rehearsal tracks in audio and video format;
- don't require an expert to lead the choir.
Each book is a reference book, tapping into the resources on the Small Choirs website where
downloadable copies of the scores, rehearsal tracks and backing tracks
are available. So there is one free book available to each church or chapel which requires one as additional copies of each anthem can be downloaded and printed as required.

To Sum Up
- The pieces in this book are easy to perform as:
- they don't have very high or low notes;
- they have simple accompaniments and backing tracks;
- they have voice specific rehearsal tracks;
- they don't need a choral expert to teach them;
- they link into a whole range of free, online resources which will encourage the growth of a choir.
- They are, therefore, suitable for new small choirs, or existing small choirs needing new repertoire.
- There is a free book for each church of chapel wishing to start a choir, or to support an existing small choir.
- If required, extra copies of each anthem may be downloaded from the Small Choirs website.
The production cost of these books was covered by philanthropic funding. This funding does not cover the postage and packing costs of sending books out. So, if you want a book:
