Spanish Organs and
Organ Music

For many of us, we hardly ever step outside German, French, and English repertoire. Give us Bach, Buxtehude, De Grigny and Messiaen, with a little bit of Stanley thrown in, and we are happy, but the vast acres of music from other nationalities doesn't come within our gaze. Loreto Aramendi takes us to the SW corner of Europe and looks at the rich and varied history of organs and organ music. A tradition inspired by the fervour of Christians who, only in recent centuries, had become independent of Islamic rule, and financed by the riches of the New World Empire.
