A tab will be opened in the Skirrid Inn for choir members after the service.
Read more about the NMMA and its music HERE
Who
Membership of the choir is open to all interested singers.
Singing with the choir carries no implication of further committment. This is a self contained project and once done and dusted, that's it. You will be kept informed of other similar projects, but not with an expectation that you will participate.
It is NOT expected that singers will be able to sight read music. Downloadable rehearsal tracks will be available.
This choral project will be led by Philip Norman
Music
- For the choir: Calon Lân. The couple want this sung in Welsh. Some of the choir will Ahh, Ooh, and hum a background whilst the Welsh speakers, set slightly apart, will sing the words. For those of you who want to refresh your memories, HERE'S the Tune, with the 4 bars intro/interlude we will be using and HERE is the version of the text we will be using.
- For the choir and congregation: Be thou My Vision; Amazing Grace; Shine, Jesus, Shine.
- A choral intro: Here I am to Worship. To lighten the load for singers, we will do this with a soloist for the verses and the choir for the choruses. The printed music is HERE, and THIS is the melody. It's not something which will stretch you to the limits.
It won't be necessary for singers to download and print the music themselves, this will be provided.
