Service Choir
Introduction
When & Where
Who
Membership of the choir is open to any interested singers.
Singing with the choir carries no implication of further committment. This is a self contained project and once done and dusted, that's it. You will be kept informed of other similar projects, but not with an expectation that you will participate.
However, it is hoped that singers who register for this project will attend as many rehearsals as possible.
It is NOT expected that singers will be able to sight read music. The rehearsal schedule (see below) allows good time for learning notes and, for those who want to use them, downloadable rehearsal tracks will be available.
Music and Downloads
- Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow
- I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In
- Sussex Carol
All the music will be provided, so there's no need to print anything.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be held on these days:
-
Tuesday 16 December: 7.00 - 8.30 pm
Zenith, Church Lane, just opposite the church.
This is, really, a pre-rehearsal.The three choir carols will have been sung at the Christmas Concert on 9 December, so they will be quite well known. If, however, you didn't sing in this concert and would like to get to know the notes well, come to this rehearsal. -
Friday 19 December: 7.00 - 8.30 pm
Zenith, Church Lane, just opposite the church.
This is the main rehearsal when most of the learning will take place. It would be helpful if as many singers as possible could attend this rehearsal. -
Sunday 21 December: 4.30 - running on into the carol service at 6.00.
St David's Church.
If you are a secure sight-reader, come to this rehearsal only.
Cost
Nothing - it's all free.
Last Date for Registration
There is no actual last date - we can accept new singers right up to 4.30 pm on Sunday 21 December.
