St David's Day
Choir
When & Where
Introduction
A choir has been requested for a sung evensong in St David's church, Llanddewi Skirrid as it is a long time since such a service was held in the church.
This page sets out information about this Choir and how to be part of it.

Who
Membership of the choir is open to all interested singers.
Singing with the choir carries no implication of further committment. This is a self contained project and once done and dusted, that's it. You will be kept informed of other similar projects, but not with an expectation that you will participate.
It is NOT expected that singers will be able to sight read music. The piece(s) chosen will allow for a range of musical abilities and, for those who want to use them, downloadable rehearsal tracks will be available.
This choral project will be led by Philip Norman
Music
- For the choir: We'll aim at doing two pieces, and introit and an anthem. As we have limited rehearsal time, both will be pieces that you have sung before.
- For the choir and congregation: a selection of suitable hymns and canticles.
It won't be necessary for singers to download and print the music themselves, this will be provided. Both pieces are chosen from the Fifty Oven Ready Anthems book.

Rehearsals
Please remember, via the Music section (just above) rehearsal tracks are available.
-
Saturday 28 Feb, 3.00 - 4.30 pm - in St David's Llanddewi SKIRRID.
If you are going on the Sunday 1 March afternoon pilgrimage from St David's, Llanddewi Rhydderch to St David's, Llanddewi Skirrid, this would be a really good rehearsal to attend. Venue tbc. - Sunday 1 March, 2.30 - 3.40 pm.
The two pieces will be sung through in their entirety from 3.30 pm. This means that singers who are participating in the pilgrimage can skip and scurry the last mile to be present for this sing through.
The music scores and rehearsal tracks are downloadable above, and some of you have the anthem books. If possible, please prepare yourself in advance.
If you are quick to learn notes, and aren't taking part in the pilgrimage, it's only necessary to come to the Sunday afternoon rehearsal.
Cost
Nothing - it's all free.
Last Date for Registration
There is no actual last date - we can accept new singers right up to 2.30 pm on the day.
