During the week before Easter (Holy Week) the North Monmouthshire Ministry Area is organising a series of joint-services for led by Ian Rees, Archdeacon of the Gwent Valleys. A request has been placed for a small choir to sing during the Maundy Thursday service, both during Communion and the foot washing ceremonies.

Membership of the choir is open to all interested singers.

Singing with the choir carries no implication of further committment. This is a self contained project and once done and dusted, that's it. You will be kept informed of other similar projects, but not with an expectation that you will participate.

It is NOT expected that singers will be able to sight read music.

Apart from the hymns and other liturgical music, two pieces will be sung:

• The plainsong hymn Of the Glorious Body Telling;
• An expanded version of the Taizé chant Ubi Caritas.

It won't be necessary for singers to download and print the music themselves. This will be provided

• Monday 3 Apri 7.00 - 8.00 pm: Zenith, Church Lane, Llanddewi Rhydderch NP7 9TS (just opposite the church);
• Thursday 6 April 6.00 pm: St David's Church.

If you can sight-read music, it will only be necessary to come to the Thursday rehearsal
