|Shea Lolin is a dynamic and versatile freelance musician living in London. His principal studies were in clarinet performance, composition and conducting at Colchester Institute and has since developed an inimitable portfolio career as a conductor, performer and teacher.
Like most freelance musicians, Shea makes a living from a very wide spectrum of musical activities and has worked as a conductor, performer, curator, teacher, music journalist, concert manager and editor for several publishing companies. He is an Honorary Local Representative of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music with whom he previously held a post for a number of years.
As a freelance church musician and organist, Shea has performed in most Christian churches and cathedrals in the greater London area. He held the post of Director of Music for the Anglican Parish of Gidea Park from 2004-2010. During his time at music college, Shea played live for BBC radio on Remembrance Sunday (2003) at Birmingham Cathedral. In September 2008 he directed a Songs of Praise service in St. John's Church, Stratford Broadway as part of the Newham Music and Dance Festival, bringing live music to one of London's poorest boroughs. The service included the world premiere of Like as the Hart by Martin Seymour.
Shea Lolin currently holds the post of Director of Music for the Catholic Parish of Manor Park. This allows him to lead and develop the ministry of music within the parish whilst practising his own Catholic faith.
Shea is equally at home with the chanting of the ordinary of the mass in both Latin and English as he is with modern worship. Always with the liturgical needs placed first, his experience allows him to execute the music to the highest standard.
