Requiem Masses,
From Plainchant to Verdi

Mozart, Fauré, Berlioz, Verdi, Cherubini - all have felt themselves compelled to set most (not quite all) of the Latin Missa pro Defunctis, including that great Medieval poem, Dies Iræ.

This talk looks at the differences and similarities, and ponders over how some of the music has become included into Hollywood films and video games. Also, does Sussmäyr deserve more credit than we give him?

This talk lasts about 60 minutes, or longer if required. All necessary equipment (projector, screen, sound system) is provided.
