The Orchestra

During the Renaissance, instrumental groups were either ad hoc collections of who was available at the time, consorts (groups of instruments of the same family - a consort of viols, or a consort of recorders, for example.

During the next three hundred years, the full symphony orchestra evolved, driven by technical improvement in instruments and composers' imagination.

This talk charts that path.

This talk lasts about 60 minutes, or can be longer of shorter if required. All necessary equipment (projector, screen, sound system) is provided.
