Sung Evensong
Motet Choir
When & Where
Introduction
It's a policy of the North Monmouthshire Ministry Area to hold, on the fifth Sunday of a month, an area sung evensong. The next will be on Sunday 30 July, and a choir has been requested.'
This page sets out information about this Motet Choir and how to be part of it.

Who
Membership of the choir is open to all interested singers.
Singing with the choir carries no implication of further committment. This is a self contained project and once done and dusted, that's it. You will be kept informed of other similar projects, but not with an expectation that you will participate.
It is NOT expected that singers will be able to sight read music. The piece chosen will allow for a range of musical abilities and, for those who want to use them, downloadable rehearsal tracks will be available.
This choral project will be led by Philip Norman
Music
-
For the choir: You will be able to preview the choral piece in the Downloads section.
As an anthem, we will sing The King of Love My Shepherd Is to the arrangement we used in January for the commissioning of the Ministry Area. - For the choir and congregation: a selection of suitable hymns and canticles.
It won't be necessary for singers to download and print the music themselves, this will be provided.
Rehearsals
Please remember, via the Downloads section (just below) rehearsal tracks are available.
As the choir-only piece will be a re-run of an anthem from last January, we will only meet on the day at 5.00 pm. This will give us time to refresh our memories of the piece and sort out such things as hymns, psalm, canticles, responses etc. This doesn't mean we will have lots of other notes to learn, it just means that we will have time to find out exactly what is being done and feel prepared.
