Biography I read music at the University of Leeds where I studied organ and harpsichord with Peter Seymour and performance studies with Graham Barber. Further organ studies have been undertaken with Anne Marsden Thomas and Marilyn Harper. I learned the piano from the age of 12, and later taught myself to play the organ when my local church needed an organist. I obtained my first Organist and Director of Music post at St Luke, Woodside, South Norwood at the age of 16, and returned there later for a second stint. During my time in Leeds I was Organist and Director of Music at three churches: St Augustine, Wrangthorn; St Mark, Woodhouse; and All Hallows, Hyde Park. After a period of postgraduate music studies and church pastoral work, I moved back to London to study for the public sector chartered accountancy qualification, eventually becoming Assistant Director of Finance for a large local authority. During those years I played regularly and directed choirs for Anglican and Roman Catholic churches in South London. In 2021 I decided to update my organ playing skills and was successful in obtaining the Associate diploma of the Royal College of Organists. In 2022 I took early retirement and I now work as a freelance organist and choir director.
