Michael is an internationally renowned player who has enjoyed a successful career in music since winning the ATOS UK Young Theatre Organist of the Year Competition in 1980. He plays regularly in various churches throughout the south of England, including for occasional services at Arundel Cathedral, as well as touring throughout the UK and Europe.
In the more popular world, Michael has been featured very regularly on BBC Radio 2, including appearing for Radio 2 Music Day playing live to 5-million people on 'Steve Wright In The Afternoon' and frequently on 'The Organist Entertains. He has also played for HRH Prince Charles whilst deputising at the keyboards of the celebrated 5-manual organ at the famous Odeon, Leicester Square, with the re-formed Mantovani Orchestra and accompanying many TV stars and celebrities from the 70s and 80s in latter day theatre tours.
Michael's non-liturgical work brings with it a huge repertoire, making him very adaptable and ideal to cover special music requests for Weddings and Funerals, resulting in him travelling quite far afield sometimes, even having been flown out to the South of France to play for a special wedding.
Michael is also a master at accompanying classic Silent Films, something he has done in the UK, Holland, and Germany, where for two summers running he has been the principal featured accompanist for the International Silent Film Festival held at the Babylon Cinema in Berlin.
Besides his work playing on pipe organs, he can provide his touring digital electronic organ or keyboards, and is also often found playing at the piano keyboard, whether his own touring digital piano or on a concert stage.
