William Saunders

William Saunders was Director of Music at The Royal Hospital School, Suffolk between 2013 and 2019. There, he was responsible for a dynamic music department that undertakes in excess of 80 concerts and services per year. In addition, William directed a number of ensembles and the Holbrook Choral Society. In his first term at RHS, he conducted the Chapel Choir at The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall. This took place before HM The Queen and members of the Royal Family and was broadcast live on BBC radio and television. Other conducting activities include his directorship of the Prometheus Consort, a choir that regularly sings at St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.

Before 2013, William was Assistant Director of Music at Ipswich School where he was also Director of the annual Festival of Music. He has also held the position of Organist at St Mary-le-Tower Civic Church, Ipswich and was Deputy Organist at St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
