Introduction

Welcome to this, the fourteenth Bloomsbury Organ Day. The first was conceived as a one-off event in January 2011 to celebrate ten years of Organists Online (established November 2010). Little did the two Philips think that fifteen years later we would still be running them.

It is said that, if a thing ain't broken, don't fix it, so the established pattern of the day will be as before, an afternoon of free events (alternating recitals and presentations) followed by a famous Bloomsbury Buffet and Celebrity Recital.

This year, the afternoon recitals will be given by students of the RCO Academy Organ School (welcome back!), Pascal Bachmann (newly appointed as Organ Scholar of St John's College, Cambridge) and Hamish Wagstaff (the new Organ Scholar of St Paul's Cathedral).

Loreto Aramendi is with us for the evening's Celebrity Recital - our first visit from the Iberian peninsular.

During the day, there will be ongoing light refreshments and, in both the entrance foyer and basement Friendship Centre, sundry displays and CD/music sales.

The whole of the afternoon is free, so come and go as you wish, but for the ticketed buffet and final recital it's essential to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
