Be able to play to an excellent standard (Diploma or equivalent experience)
Significant experience playing in liturgical contexts including the playing of hymns, psalms, canticles, anthems etc.
Experience of accompanying choirs and soloists
Strong communication and organisational skills
A team player
Ability to relate well to children and adults
Flexibility and the ability to work with calmness and good humour when under pressure
Ability to work in sympathy with, and support for, the wider mission of the church, upholding the church's ethos

Other details:
Responsibilities:
Regular organ playing at St Mary the Blessed Virgin, Prescot, for services of worship. These include the 10am Sunday Sung Eucharist and occasional special services, e.g. Advent, Christmas, Easter, etc.
Accompanying Tuesday choir rehearsal (6.30-7.10pm) twice monthly along with stand-alone Christmas/Easter rehearsals.
Accompanying choir recruitment events.
Work collaboratively in the choosing and setting of music with twice-yearly repertoire meetings.
Undertake all statutory safeguarding duties.
Undertake other relevant duties as may be requested from time to time and commensurate with the role.
This role requires an enhanced DBS check along with relevant safeguarding training.
N.b. There will be an initial 6 month probationary period.
