We are a thriving Church in the Anglo-Catholic tradition with a warm heart and welcome. We hold a Parish Sung Eucharist every Sunday and an all-age family Eucharist once a month. On the first Sunday of every month there is also a joyous Children’s Praise service.
We seek to appoint an Organist & Director of Music to lead and develop the tradition of fine choral and organ music, both traditional & contemporary, for our services and festivals.
Holy Saviour Church has a strong musical tradition. The enthusiastic RSCM-affiliated SATB choir has an excellent reputation and a wide repertoire. Choir practice is currently held on Thursday evenings 7.30-9pm
The two manual 15-stop tracker-action organ was designed and built in 1987 by John Bailey of Grant, Degens & Bradbeer, Northampton, using as much of the existing materials and pipework of the original 1865 Walker organ as possible. It has since been regularly maintained by Bishop & Son of Ipswich, and was completely cleaned and overhauled in 2017.
Could you help us and share our vision of music in the future? If so, do contact Brian Caswell via the Contact Form on the church website www.holysaviourhitchin.org.uk and he will be happy to give you further information.
