Musical Requirements:

• To play the organ at the main Sunday morning service each week at St Peter’s Henfield

• To play the organ at services on the Principal Festivals, and at other public services when reasonably requested to do so by the Incumbent

• To play at Choral Evensong services during the year, shared with the other churches of the parish

• To grow and train the current choir to sing at the main Sunday morning service on two Sundays a month and to lead suitable choir practice sessions.

• To lead the choir on the Principal Festivals and at other public services as requested by the Incumbent.

• To lead the choir at Choral Evensong services during the year, shared with the other two churches of the parish, in liaison with the organist of those churches.

• Together with the Incumbent, to explore with St Peter’s C of E Primary School the potential for establishing, growing and training a children’s choir to sing at school services and eventually on some Sunday mornings.

• To prepare music lists, in discussion with the Incumbent where necessary.

• To promote excellence in choral singing through effective leadership and rehearsal

• To be responsible for the music library of the parish.

• When requested to do so by the Incumbent, to attend meetings of the PCC and its sub-committees.

• To be responsible for the supervision of the care and maintenance of the St Peter’s Henfield organ, and other music instruments in that church.
