Musical Requirements:
Worship
• Play for the weekly 9.30am Parish Eucharist and the rehearsal beforehand.
• Play for festival services throughout the Church year.
• Prepare appropriate organ music before and after services.
• Accompany congregational hymns and choral settings.
• Work collaboratively with the Vicar and Parish Music Director in planning music for worship, recognising the Vicar’s overall responsibility for the worship and musical life of the parish.
• In consultation with the wardens & Vicar, ensure the annual tuning and regular maintenance of the organ.
Choir
• Attend the weekly choir rehearsal (currently Friday evenings).
• Accompany rehearsals where appropriate.
• Support the Parish Music Director in developing the choir.
Occasional Offices
• First refusal for weddings, stand-alone christenings and funerals where organ music is requested; fees are negotiable and could be up to full RSCM rates depending on qualifications and experience.
Regular Commitments
• Weekly Sunday Parish Eucharist.
• Weekly choir rehearsal.
• Festival services including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday evening, Good Friday, Easter Eve, Easter Day, Ascension Day, Memorial Service, Advent Carols, Carols by Candlelight, Christingle, Midnight Mass and Christmas Day.
