We are seeking a Music Director that knows how to play the organ and the required music for our Sunday masses with direction of the choir.
The music at the mass will consist of choral as well as congregational music and occasional motets. Attendance at a choir practice on Sunday mornings would be expected, as would be a willingness to develop the skills and repertoire of an amateur choir of adults and children. The organ is a mid-19th century organ.
Applicant should have knowledge of or appreciation for Catholic liturgy and liturgical music.
The Organist’s duties include performing at every Sunday Mass (excluding the first Sunday after Christmas and the Sunday after Easter and a summer holiday). As well as hymns, except on the Sundays of Lent, a voluntary before and after Mass.
