Other details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced conductor to support the development of the UCL Chamber Choir, one of six ensembles run by the student-led UCL Music Society.

The Chamber Choir draws on the finest singers from Music Society to perform to a high standard, producing some excellent performances of both classical and contemporary pieces. Currently the choir is involved in 2-3 concerts each year with a wide range of repertoire, however we would like to see this expand under the new conductor’s direction.

The conductor will be responsible for the musical direction of the ensemble during rehearsals and support the Chamber Choir managers alongside the President of the Music Society in handling logistical aspects of running the Choir. The conductor will be invited to conduct scheduled UCL Chamber Choir concerts, however regrettably will have no involvement in any UCOpera affiliated productions. As a student-led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our values, and recognizes the need to work collaboratively with students to develop their musical skills as well as delivering excellent performances.

About the Union:

Students’ Union UCL is an organisation that exists to make more happen. We are the representative body for University College London’s (UCL) students, one of the most diverse student communities in the world. UCL students have the potential to do anything, and the Union leads an essential role in helping them to achieve things they may have never thought possible. As a charity we employ over 90 full-time staff and deliver a wide range of services and representative functions for students.

Our Vision:

An outstanding experience for all UCL students and to be one of the best students’ unions in the UK and the world.

Our Mission:

We build a vibrant and empowered student community with real influence in UCL and beyond, that enables students to enjoy their time at university; pursue their interests and passions; see the world in new ways; and develop the skills and experience to change the world for the better.
